Ty'n Coed - Planning Decision:
An outline planning application submitted in January 2007 by StMalo (Llangefni) Limited for 139 houses plus a 50 unit Extra Care facility was presented to Anglesey Councils' Planning & Orders Committee ( of 3rd December 2008) as a split application by the case officer:
The Officers' recommendation was for refusal of the housing, citing prematurity in the context of the deposit draft Local Development Plan. Conversely planning officers' recommendation was to approve the Extra Care.
On the day, the Planning & Orders Committee followed the officers' recommendation and REFUSED the housing but voted 14/14 to APPROVE the Extra Care.
The Extra Care is subject to a joint bid by Anglesey Council's Housing & Social Services Department and Clwyd Alun Housing Association (the operator) for a social housing grant from the Welsh Assembly Government. If approved it will allow the entire Extra Care centre to be "affordable."
This is great news for Anglesey residents as it secures a fantastic facility for seniors.
End.
