StMalo acquire Valley Mill

Constructed circa 1830 Valley Mill was owned and operated by the Cardiner family who had flower mills in Lancashire and the milled flower would be taken by train from Valley railway station to Lancs. [1] [2] [3] [4]

In December 2005 StMalo successfully completed it’s freehold purchase of Valley Mill a near derelict property off London Road, Valley. The Mill thought to date pre-1840 is of stone construction and has dominated Valleys’ skyline for at least 170 years. Formerly owned and operated by The Gardiner family, the Mill received corn from Anglesey which once milled was sent by train to Lancashire from Valley Station. The Mill will be demolished and redevelopmed to make was for much needed family housing for first-time buyers.
